Wash before use. Washing your Pestemals before using them will ensure they soften and improve absorbency. The best is to soak towels in cold water over night and hang to dry or cold machine wash or warm water machine wash (30 degrees). Avoid fabric softeners and bleach. Fabric softeners leave residue on the fibers that will reduce absorbency.
How to dry:
We recommend line drying where possible; otherwise use a lower heat setting on tumble dryer.
How to maintain absorbency:
Add one cup of white vinegar to the wash periodically to remove residue and improve absorbency.
Tip: if you every over-dry your towels and notice a decrease in absorbency, simply repeat soaking process outlined above.
What to do with pulled threads:
If your Pestemal has snagged and pulled out threads, simply cut the thread off. This will not damage the integrity of your towel.
What to do with unraveled tassels:
The tassels are hand knotted and can with use become unraveled. These can be re-tied. Make two sections and twist each section clockwise till fully twisted. Take each section and wrap around each other in an anti-clockwise direction till fully twisted around each other. Tie a knot at the end of tassel.
How to remove stains:
We recommend a solution of baking soda and vinegar rubbed on the stain before washing.
Tip: A capful of white vinegar in the wash will brighten clothes and towels without harsh chemicals!
Voila! Now you can indulge yourself in the amazing softeness and luxury feel of your Pestemal!
